                                       ARABELLA
By
Raymond J Warren

SYNOPSIS
The true story of a baby born of an aboriginal mother and an Afghan shepherd during the latter half of the 19th century. A black baby taken in by a white farmer and his barren wife after the massacre of her tribe and family. Dearly loved by her foster parents who raised her in the style of the wealthy Europeans of the era, she was sent off to school in England where nothing could have been better until dramatic events changed her life forever.

This true story had its origins in a small town book that gave descriptions of European settlement and the clash of stone age and iron age cultures in Australia; one that dealt with the day to day altercations of two opposing peoples, although this work is a fiction based on fact. it describes the events that took place at the turn of the 19th century.

Many areas worldwide were to feel the terror and horror of man's inhumanity against man but none worse than that forced from birth unto death upon the stylish and aristocratic Arabella.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BARBARA THOMPSON OF CASTAWAY FAME

The true story of the shipwreck and stranding of Barbara Thompson [nee Crawford] can be found in the book "Wildflower" The Barbara Crawford Thompson Story.

The differences between what has been known about this drama for the past 160 years and what has been uncovered by the Author are dramatic almost to the point of being unbelievable.

Her story had been covered up by all concerned after her rescue in October 1849 and this new book has managed to draw out all hidden material on how she became stranded with wild head hunters and on her life from birth to death. The book "Wildflower' The Barbara Crawford Thompson Story is now recognized as the Authority on her life and is being used in university lectures.

This book is enthralling to say the least and will take the reader into the 19th century so well, that one will find it hard to mentally come out from within that period. The book also carries the convict system for Queensland [then known as Northern New South Wales] and the fighting that ensued from white settlement on native lands.

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD [OF SHIPWRECK AND CASTAWAYS]

There are several tales of shipwreck and castaways that have been recorded and/or handed down throughout history but none are mere dramatic or mysterious than that of the twelve-year-old Scottish lass Barbara Crawford [or Barbara Thompson] who was shipwrecked in the dangerous head hunting waters of the Torres Strait, just to the north of Australia.

Wildflower: The Barbara Crawford Thompson Story
Barbara told her rescuers some years later that a local tribe from Murralahg Island had adopted her and she had managed to survive when all was stacked against her. She also told them that she was 16 years old when she eloped with a man named William Thompson.

This information has been dis-proven and her "history mystery" completely unraveled, revealing a story that no fiction writer would be game to submit.

Just 12 years old when stolen away from her Sydney home by a convict from Brisbane, she survived the bush and sea travel her captor forced upon her before she, as a thirteen-year-old was trapped alone with tribal head hunters for 5 long years.

The 264 page final edition of her story [25 years in the writing] was released on April 16th 2012 and will enthrall readers of history or novels in that her experiences surely show that fact can be much stranger than fiction.
